Spirit of Yosemite Wilderness Backpack Trip

This one-of-a-kind backpack trip explores the incomparable High Sierra on a trek through some of Yosemite’s most impressive backcountry. Traveling under the stunning Cathedral Range into the iconic Yosemite wilderness, this moderately challenging adventure includes both cross country trekking and pleasant trail hiking, including a portion of the John Muir Trail.

You will navigate through remote basins and over stunning granite ridges, stroll through grassy meadows and follow cascading creeks and rivers, reaching our destination situated under Yosemite’s famous granite domes. Campsites include both high alpine basins and lakes situated in wildflower filled meadows, while expansive views of mountain peaks and glaciated valleys stretch out from every bend in the trail. This trip also traverses a wide diversity of habitats, providing outstanding viewing opportunities for many different species of wildlife.

Also included is the opportunity to climb one of Yosemite’s most iconic mountains, providing 360 degree views over the lofty peaks marking the top of the Sierra Nevada. This 6-day trip culminates with either a summit of world famous Half Dome, or the stunning view from neighboring Cloud’s Rest before ending in Yosemite Valley.

Includes: expert guides, transportation, all camping equipment (stoves, cookware, water filters, group first aid kit, permits, maps, emergency transceivers, etc.), and the finest quality backpacking gear (backpacks, sleeping bags, ground pads, backpack chairs, hiking poles, and tents).
